The Armed Forces Attache Spouses Association held a tour to the
Tsaritsino Park and Palace. As you can see it rained but that didn't dampen our spirits.
Ladies from the USA, Estonia, Japan, Netherlands, Brazil, Venezuela, and a few other countries (Im still meeting ladies, learning names and where they are from) all enjoyed the tour and each others company!
Here is the musical fountain again...
and would you believe we heard the same
song from Top Gun that we heard just a few days
ago when we came as a family?
"... take my breath away..."
Above is the gate leading to the palace. And below is a a glimpse of the Palace with a model of the ruins that were left from when Catherine the Great began construction in the late 1700's but it was not finished. The palace sat in ruins until recently the it was restored and opened as a museum. Our tour guide shared memories of playing in the ruins as a child.
But a beautiful palace it is... beautiful ceilings and floors... paintings etc
Then a few of us took time to stop at the honey market... very fun....
