Thanksgiving Week

We had a wonderful week with my folks and Aunt Clara here. Thanksgiving Day was spent watching the Macy's parade, doing puzzles and playing games. It was a really nice day... wish I had taken more pictures...I'll have to steal them from my mom some day. But our dinner was yummy and I'm thankful no one complained that it was getting cold while I took time to take this shot!
Thanks mom and dad and Aunt Clara for coming!!! We were so glad to see you!

A DC Sunday

We headed into DC to get our Christmas picture and ended up making a DC day out of it. We spent our time at the Air and Space Museum. The demostrations were awesome, especially since Clara and John were both selected to help. Here are a few snapshots...

btw... Joey won the paper airplane folding contest!

All in day's work

These bags of leaves are from three different houses on our culdesac.
We are only about half way there,
my neighbor is up to only 49 of his usual 100 bags.
We have lost count.
This picture was actually taken the next day.
Yesterday the sidewalk was perfectly clean.

...but 'cha gotta have a little fun along the way...

We didn't have leaf blowers when I was a kid.

Just good old fashion rakes and brooms, which we still use today but blowers are way more fun.
And here is the front yard the very next morning...

so guess what we will be busy doing again next weekend!

Will it ever end? We sure have to add this to our

list of wants/ don't want when it comes to a retirement home.

National Zoo

Our November DC day....
The kids had a couple days of at the end of the quarter so we we decided to head to the zoo.
It was a beautiful day. Unfortunately daddy did not have those days off.
Sorry dad. We missed you.
We saw lots of cool animals... here are a few... panda, red panda, fishing cat, and a wolf.
