Tsaritsino Fountain and Honey Market

It was a beautiful day in Moscow so we had to go find something outside to do and enjoy the weather. I had been hearing about the Honey Market, how easy it was to get too and how fun it was to see and taste all the honey. So off we went. We didn't exit the metro station on the correct side so got turned around a little, but eventually we made it to this fountain above, Tsaritsino Fountain. It was very fun to watch and listen... and listen we listened to Top Gun, "take my breath away"... too funny. The little peaks behind the green trees is a Tsaritsino Palace. From here we did find our way to the Honey Market where we walked and saw booth after booth where beekeepers from all over Russia displayed their honey. You could taste all different kinds. Honey from pumpkin, raspberry, apple, coriander and many more. All are believed to be medicinal, doing everything from lowering your blood pressure to having antibacterial properties. But most importantly it is a sweet treat! We bought a big bucket of the lighter honey from the Altai region. I think it was a dessert honey, which was actually pretty low on the medicinal claims... but again we taste tested them and this is the one we liked best.
