Family story: When Nicki, your Momma, was preparing to enter the first grade there was a test the Teacher always gave the children entering her first grade. She would say a word and the student would match a picture with the word. This year one of the words was spectacles. Pronounced “spec-tackles” by the teacher who’s home was north central Indiana. We had always pronounced the word "spec-tickles here in southern Kentuckiana. Your Momma had no clue what the teacher was talking about, but this was the only one she missed.
